01Common symptoms
No hot water can result from shade, empty tank, air lock, reversed flow, failed pump, sensor fault, scale or backup isolation. A leak may come from a replaceable joint, valve, tube seal, collector header or the storage vessel itself. Diagnosis must separate symptom from root cause before parts are ordered.
- Low morning temperature
- Hot water becomes cold quickly
- Overflow or pressure discharge
- Pump runs but no circulation
- Broken tube or collector-glass damage
02Safe DIY checks
The owner may confirm shade, visible leakage, controller display, supply valves and whether hot-water use has increased. Do not climb an unsafe roof, open electrical panels, block a relief valve or tighten a hot pressurised joint. Photograph the nameplate, fault display and leak location for remote triage.
03Professional repair process
The technician records make/model, system type, pressure, temperatures, water condition and fault history; isolates energy; tests the circuit; prepares a parts-and-labour quote; repairs; refills and vents; then records post-repair operation. Existing corrosion or inaccessible work is documented before acceptance.
04AMC options
A basic plan covers scheduled inspection and cleaning labour. A preventive plan adds performance measurements, valve, pump, sensor, anode and insulation checks. Comprehensive coverage must explicitly list included spares; tanks, pumps, controllers, glass and consumables are not automatically free unless the signed schedule says so.
