Understand what a standard number, licence, test report, ALMM listing and project certificate actually prove.
The IS 12933 family addresses solar flat-plate collectors; BIS listings show revised 2025 parts. All-glass evacuated-tube systems and their direct-insertion tanks are covered by separate Indian Standards such as IS 16544 and IS 16542. Always confirm the current notified standard and QCO transition status for the date of supply.
PV modules and inverters may require BIS registration and applicable IEC/IS tests. A certificate must identify the manufacturer, model family, standard, validity and issuing body. A component passing a laboratory test does not automatically prove that the entire installed system is safe or scheme-eligible.
ALMM and domestic-content requirements are programme-specific and can change. Verify the current MNRE list, model number and effective dates. Scheme eligibility can additionally require a registered vendor, portal workflow, approved capacity and DISCOM completion.
Before approval, capture certificate URLs or copies, licence status, model cross-reference, test reports, warranty, serial traceability and approved deviation notes. Recheck status at dispatch if the procurement period is long. State clearly when evidence is pending.
